“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

While walking home from work, a question suddenly crossed my mind:

Is it really possible to get paid for doing something I love?

Lately, I’ve been enjoying blogging—writing about faith, my everyday reflections, and life with God. It’s not something I started with the intention of making money. But as I continued doing it, I found myself genuinely loving it. And then the thought came: What if I could do this every day and be able to support myself in the process?

Wouldn’t it be beautiful to spend each day dwelling in the presence of God, reflecting, writing, and encouraging others through what He teaches me? To live with enough—just what I need—and not be consumed by a 9-to-5 job that takes up most of my energy and time?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m still grateful for my profession—I love engineering. But I can’t deny how draining it is when work leaves little room for other parts of life I also love and value. There’s a longing in me to have space—space for quietness, space for purpose, space to do something meaningful for God.

Is It Possible?

Yes, I believe it is.

Maybe not always in the way the world defines success. But in God’s economy, purpose and provision are never in conflict. When we delight in Him and seek Him first, He aligns our desires with His plans—and He makes a way.

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

I don’t know exactly how this will unfold. I don’t know if blogging will become sustainable or lead to other opportunities. But I do know this: God has already prepared something good. The more I dwell in His presence, the more I sense that the desires He placed in me are not random—they are intentional.

He knows I’m not asking for too much.

He knows my heart longs to honor Him.

And I believe He will not withhold what is good.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” – Psalm 84:11 (NIV)

What Now?

For now, I’ll keep writing.

I’ll keep pouring out my thoughts.

I’ll keep listening and trusting.

Because even if this blog reaches just one person—someone God already prepared—it will be worth it. Maybe this is how He wants to reveal Himself to that person. And if that’s the case, then what a privilege it is to write.

Reflection Questions for You, Dear Reader:

Have you ever wished you could get paid for doing something you love?

Do you believe that God cares about your passions and dreams?

What desires might God be planting in your heart today?

Take some time to bring those to Him. You never know what doors He might open when you begin to trust Him with your whole heart.

Faithfully,

Yani
